*Unlike classes, jams are free-form. They're an opportunity to work with new people, learn skills from peers, and practice whatever you're working on. There is no formal instruction at jams, but if you're new, don't let that stop you! We all learn from each other.

Frequently asked questions

Who are you weirdos, anyway?

We are a passionate group of fun-loving individuals who like to get together and be silly. Some of us like to build things. Some of us like to dance. Some of us like to work on logic problems. Some of us like to teach. We come together a few times a week to climb on each other, get upside down, and experience the fun of pushing our limits.

How does pricing work?

Regularly-scheduled classes are $10 per class or $40 for a package. Jams are a $5 donation. Special events and workshops vary. See the full schedule for details.

What if I don't have an acro partner? Can I join a class by myself?

Absolutely! You are 100% welcome to join any jam/class/workshop/etc. with or without bringing a partner. Part of the fun of acro is working with new people. We'd love to meet you!

Do you do performances?

Why, yes, we do! Acro NOLA is expanding all the time, and we always have something exciting in the works. Check out our calendar page to see where and when to catch us in action!

I'm not strong/flexible/tall/skinny/etc. can I still do acro?

Are you kidding me? You are amazing. Come meet us. We're waiting! Are you here yet?

Ummm... is this some kind of sexual thing?

No. This is a group for partner acrobatics. Bring your childlike innocence with you, but leave your dirty mind at the door, please.

Acro looks dangerous. Is it safe?

Any physical activity involves some risk. We try to mitigate that with the knowledge of our experienced teachers and good spotting practices. But, ultimately, you are responsible for your safety. When in doubt, ask for a spotter (or two), and if you don't feel comfortable doing a particular pose or exercise, it is always ok to decline.

What should I wear to acro?

Wear clothes that you can move comfortably in. Avoid wearing garments that can get tangled or caught on things (such as toes). Generally, loose-fitting clothes or clothes with pockets don't work well for acro. Feel free to wear glittery, spacey, or bright things, though. We like those!
